SaltyDog's
Message Board FAQ

		Q. What is this?
		A. "Frequently Asked Questions"
regarding the use of the message
		board at SaltyDog.

		Q. You mean rules and regulations?
		Can't I say anything I want? Isn't
		that my constitutional right?

		A. I prefer to call them general
guidelines. There are not a lot of
them, but they are important. You
have the right to say just about
anything you want, but I don't
necessarily have to post it on
		my web site.

		Q. Ok, just what can I say?
		A. Almost anything on almost
any subject. I won't pick the
		subjects or control the opinions
		expressed? Anything is fair
game, any point of view is acceptable.

		Q. Well, then what can't I say?
		A. You cannot threaten anyone.
You cannot libel or slander anyone.
		You cannot post obscene or
		pornographic material. You
		cannot do anything illegal.

		Q. What about advertisements
		and commercial announcements?
		A. Purely commercial spam will
be removed. It's ok to make
		an announcement about your
		personal web site, for instance,
		but an ad encouraging people
to go to a commercial site is
		not acceptable.

		Q. Can I post in HTML?
		A. Yes, if you know what you
		are doing. Botched-up HTML
postings will be removed. It is
		also unacceptable to use
		trickery or subterfuge in your
		posting. Gimmicks such as
		"mouseover" which activates
a link when the cursor merely
passes over it are not allowed.

		Q. Anything else?
		A. It is encouraged that you
		avoid personal attacks, ad
		hominem arguments and
		belligerence and disrespect
		toward other posters. Please
		treat others with the same
		respect that you would want
		for yourself. If you disagree
		with someone else try to
		stick to the subject rather
		than engage in name-calling.
